The case has now been removed to Judge Frederick Shaller, but parties expect the whole case to be handled by a private judge, so the proceedings will happen away from the public eye. But what has been in the public eye is Mels alleged girlfriend. Rumors about a Russian singer named Oksana made the rounds, a woman who even headed to Costa Rica with the actor-filmmaker. Oksana Pochepa, 24, told UK papers that she was the one in Costa Rica and that their relationship was serious, real and strong and long-lasting.
But PEOPLE claims their sources have her pegged as Oksana Grigorieva, 39, a singer signed to Mel Gibsons record label, Icon Records.
Grigorieva, a former flame of James Bond star Timothy Dalton (with whom she has a son), has lived in a house linked to Gibson, 53.
The home, purchased in Sherman Oaks, Calif., in December 2008, has an ownership trust administered by the CFO of Mel Gibsons production company, Icon Records.
