Carmen Electra:Jessica is a gorgeous girl

"She's a gorgeous girl," Carmen Electra told PEOPLE Friday night at the 6th annual Leather & Laces Super Bowl Party in Tampa of her "good friend" Simpson. "A lot of women would die to look as good as she looks."
In fact, Electra believes much of the controversy surrounding Simpson, 28, and her curvier body can be chalked up to the outfit she was wearing the day she performed in Pembroke Pines, Fla. "There's going to be moments where people don't necessarily like your look or what you're wearing, and that's okay," she says. "Next week, she'll rock some outfit that will blow everyone away."

Jessica Simpson is hot!!!!!!!!!!!????????

Kim Kardashian is coming to Jessica Simpson's defense one curvy girl to another following a slew of reports ridiculing Simpson's fuller figure.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE Wednesday, Kardashian, 28, said, "Call me crazy, but when I saw the picture of Simpson performing Jan. 25 in Pembroke Pines, Fla. I was like, 'Oh my God, Jessica looks hot!' "Kardashian, whose E! reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians returns in March, says she has no issues whatsoever with Simpson's outfit, which many critics slammed. "I actually love the outfit. I think she looks amazing. I love high-waisted jeans, I loved that belt, and her hair looked fabulous." Adds Kardashian, who's attending the Super Bowl this weekend with football player beau Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints, "I get that she does look curvier, but to me, there's nothing wrong it." No stranger herself to barbs about her own curvy physique, Kardashian says, "It doesn't really bother me anymore. I love curves. Being super skinny just isn't attractive to me. When I saw that picture, I knew everyone was going to say something. And I thought, 'You know what? Leave Jessica alone!' She's fabulous, she's a really sweet girl, and I admire her for putting up with it."

Miss Brazil passed away at 20

Beautiful 20-year-old Mariana Bridi da Costa passed away, CNN reports.

- Unfortunately Mari couldn't resist any longer. She passed away at 3 a.m. today - said Henrique Fontes, director of Miss World Brazil.
The model`s death was also confirmed by Renato Lindgren, a friend of Mariana`s who took care of her blog. He wrote that he was on his way to the hospital with a friend.
- On behalf of all the family, we are grateful for the support and the affection that the entire world has sent to us Lindgren wrote.
Mariana, who was supposed to have represented Brazil at the Miss World beauty pageant was diagnosed with a urinary infection and the doctors had to amputate both of her hands and feet in order to save her vital organs. A difficult infection caused septicaemia, which clogged her veins and cut of f circulation.
Mariana was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of the Brazilian Doria Silva hospital. After she had her hands and feet amputated on Tuesday, Mariana has to have additional surgery on Wednesday, urgently.
Mariana`s boyfriend Thiago Simoes said that she fell ill in December, but was misdiagnosed with kidney stones. It is only after additional tests that it was determined she was infected with the Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.

Janice Dickinson probably shouldn't draw attention to her face. Ever.

Former supermodel Janice Dickinson made faces for the paparazzi yesterday while getting a touch-up at MAC on Robertson Blvd. I don't know what I'm more shocked by: Janice Dickinson's death-like man-face, or that her make-up isn't applied by a spray gun in an auto body shop. Which reminds me, you know what they should bring back? Veils. Just putting it out there.

Madonna still enjoys A-Rod

Despite recently dating a zombie, has rekindled her love affair with Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez. The two spent the weekend at Jerry Seinfeld's home in the Hamptons, according to Page Six:

"But the downtime did little to calm the recently divorced pop star's nerves. She's fuming over unflattering photos from her album cover shoot that were leaked online. A snitch said, "Madonna called up the label screaming when the photos got out."

Right, because before the leaked images got out, I didn't think Madonna drained the life-force of children to live. But now, RUN, DAVID BANDA, RUN! Warn the villagers! She's got adoption papers!

John Travolta innocent of extortion

In the first interview since he was released from police custody, Obie Wilchcombe, a longtime friend of John Travolta and the former Bahamian Minister of Tourism, tells Us he has not been charged with any crime and that he was only trying to help the actor and his family. "I did a noble thing," he says.

Wilchcombe was one of three Bahamian citizens who were detained in the past week as police investigated an alleged extortion scheme targeted at Travolta and involving the death of his 16 year old son Jett, who died of a seizure disorder at the family's vacation home in the Bahamas. Local lawmaker and lawyer Pleasant Bridgewater was arrested on Thursday, and paramedic Tarino Lightbourne, who was quoted in the press earlier this month about efforts to revive Jett, was detained on Friday. Bridgewater was released yesterday on $40,000 bail.Wilchcombe tells Us he was approached early last week by Bridgewater who alerted him that "someone was doing something untowards" and that he passed this information to Travolta's lawyers, Michael Ossi and Michael McDermott. "She knew I was close to the Travolta's. She wanted to bring something to my attention." He says this was the topic of his questioning by investigators.Asked if he sought or expected any compensation from the Travoltas Wilchcombe was adamant: "Never once, asking for anything! Never once, expecting anything! This is ridiculous and absurd. The Travolta's are suffering, it's just outright foolish. Never did I ask for anything, no one can say that. We had a friend in my country who lost a son. It was one single individual [who tried to take advantage of the family, the Bahamian people have been very kind to the Travoltas."

Bahamas probes alleged plot to extort Travolta

NASSAU, Bahamas - Authorities in the Bahamas have charged an island lawmaker and detained two other people in an alleged plot to extort money from actor John Travolta after the death of his son, police said Friday.

Two of the suspects ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne and former tourism minister Obie Wilchcombe were detained on Friday. Earlier, several tabloids quoted Lightbourne describing efforts to revive the celebrity's chronically ill son, Jett, who died of a seizure this month at their family vacation home on Grand Bahama.

Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater, an attorney from Grand Bahama, was arrested on Thursday. She was charged with abetment to extort and conspiracy to extort and released Friday on $40,000 bail, according to Assistant Superintendent of Police Loretta Mackey.

Authorities said Travolta filed a complaint of attempted extortion but they did not reveal what the allegations involved. The actor and his wife Kelly Preston returned home to Florida with the ashes of their 16-year-old son, and Travolta's publicist Paul Bloch said Friday that he has no comment.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Marvin Dames said Lightbourne the ambulance driver was detained after police issued an alert that he was wanted for attempted extortion, was "considered dangerous and should be approached with caution."

Lightbourne remained in police custody late Friday and was assisting police, according to a police statement.

Wilchcombe a member of the Bahamas parliament and an ex-tourism minister was arrested Friday in connection with the complaint, questioned by police and released "pending further investigations," Mackey said.

Wilchcombe has described himself as a friend of Travolta who was with the actor shortly after his son died.

What's Happening...

So today I found out that Nick Lachey is doing more than sitting on the beach with his girl (which is what the tabloids want you to believe). He's helping out V8 in their efforts to feed the needy. According to their site: V8 recognizes that for too many Americans, the possibility of a day without food is a constant reality.

More than 35 million people nationwide face the everyday challenge of wondering where their next meal is coming from. As a result, V8 has teamed up with Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest) to donate more than 30 million servings of fresh vegetables to local food banks throughout the country over the next six months. Good job Nick!

Obama Sworn In

Today marked a historical day as Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. With attendees like Beyonce, Jay-Z and former presidents Carter and Bush, the ceremony was emotional yet exciting as history was made. The President was joined by wife Michelle (who wore Isabel Toledo) and daughters Sasha and Malia.

On a different note, as the Bush daughters watch their parents pack up and return to Texas, they left a touching letter for the Obama girls as to what to expect with their father as president.

Happy 2009!

What a great year this is going to be. Barack Obama was sworn in just a few hours ago and we're heading toward a new direction!

So is this blog! LOL (Did you like that lead in???) I have a few interviews lined up for the next few weeks -- look for an interview with former NBA superstar Alonzo Mourning and with Survivor winner Ethan Zohn. I also should have an interview with former N'Syncer Chris Kirkpatrick. All of these men are working very hard for charity and awareness.

This year, I plan on bringing you more events and more interviews, possible contests, and even a bigger website!

So onward to a great year. I hope you're doing your part to help those less fortunate than you.

Kelly Osbourne Arrested!

The daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne was arrested on assault charges for allegedly slapping a journalist (over an article written about her model boyfriend Luke Worrall) in a London nightclub last year. Although she was released on bail, come March, Osbourne will face authorities once again.

*Update: Osbourne has just checked into a L.A. rehab center for 30 days to address personal issues. Mom Sharon said, "Yeah, Kelly's in rehab. What else can we say? She knew that it was the right thing to do at this point and we're proud that she did it. The family is all standing behind her. Kelly knew that she needed help and she's getting it. We just pray that everything's going to be okay."

After spending nine seasons as a Marine Corps lawyer on JAG, it looks like Catherine Bell has another long running hit military show on her hands! Her latest series on Lifetime, Army Wives, is gearing up for their 3rd season!

Army Wives focuses on four women and one man whose spouses are in the service, and all of them have issues or secrets—think Desperate Housewives on an Army base (it’s filmed on an actual, defunct military base in South Carolina).

Catherine is a beautiful and talented actress. I loved the character she played in Bruce Almighty, with Jim Carrey.

We may never know the whole story about John Travolta's son death

The more we hear about Jett Travolta's death, the more mysterious it becomes. The Bahamas police are pointedly disagreeing with John Travolta's lawyers' statements. John's lawyers have been talking incessantly about the tragedy.
It all happened while John was entertaining sixty Scientologists for the weekend (including the lawyers doing the talking) so he had plenty of advice and shoulders to lean on. We don't think anything will ever be resolved - John's tight knit group is sticking to their story that Jett was NOT autistic and that there were no anti seizure drugs that would have helped him. Scientologists don't want to be wrong about anything.

Tom Cruise about John Travolta's son death

Tom Cruise, a family friend of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, is speaking out about the tragic death of their 16-year-old son Jett. "I remember Jett when he was born," Cruise, 46, says on The View, scheduled to air on Friday. "I saw him when he was just a few months old and John just adored him, and both of his children, and Kelly.
I just don't have the words for it," says Cruise, who was on the show to discuss his movie Valkyrie. "It's just horrific. Here you have a man, both of them doting parents, they're wonderful people and" As for speculation that the Travoltas did not seek medical help for Jett, who had a history of seizures, because of their Scientology beliefs, Cruise, also a Scientologist, says the religion does not discourage medical attention. "That's just not true," he says. "They say, 'Get your physical, get your medication, get your physical illnesses handled."
