Bruce 'the Boss' Springsteen

Thanks to Anthony N. for suggesting this post. Anthony writes "Hi, as someone whose hair is slowly beginnign to recede, I greatly enjoy your blog. I enjoy reading about the many celebs who go to such lengths to hide what they simply cannot control.

This video will not let me embed it, so you have to go to youtube to check it out. Click on the link below for a video of Bruce from 1988. You can see his hair is badly receding, the sides of the front hairline almost completely gone, with just a stump in the front:

The Boss became the boss of his hair and began to try and hide the hairline. He wore headbands more often than a grown man should:

He was also lucky - his hair is thick. He was able to grow it long and puff it out or comb it forward to hide the hairline.

However, Bruce isn't just lucky - he is rich. He can afford the best hair care in the world. And he has taken advantage of this wealth. Here he is in 2001, with a very bald scalp:

Then here he is more recently. Notice the growth in the hairline:

Anthony also comments, "As you can see, The Boss was indeed born to run...out of hair." So true, Anthony, so true...

Bruuuuuce!

JASON HEATH & THE GREEDY SOULS CONTRIBUTE NEW SONG "A FIGHTER'S LULLABY"AS A FREE DOWNLOAD TO DANNYFUND.ORG

Website launched in honor of late mentor and E Street Band member Danny Federici. Bruce Springsteen's PSA for website debuts during Super Bowl pre-game.

Jason Heath & the Greedy Souls have contributed a moving new song, "A Fighter's Lullaby" as a free download on charitable website Dannyfund.org, in honor of their late friend and mentor, Danny Federici, who passed away last year from melanoma. The website, dedicated to raising awareness and funds for melanoma research, officially launched this week with a PSA featuring Bruce Springsteen that broadcast during Super Bowl XLIII. "Danny was an absolute inspiration to all of us," says Heath. "Our song is dedicated to him, along with anyone who's found themselves traveling through the wilderness of personal struggle."

Dannyfund.org was created by Federici's son, Jason, a member of the Greedy Souls who has appeared onstage with the E Street band. "This organization was started to grant my father's final dying wish," says Federici. "He wanted to touch as many people as he could to raise awareness about melanoma and the dangers of the sun." All funds will benefit a major study conducted by Danny Federici's doctor, Jason Chapman at the Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City.

Jason Heath and the Greedy Souls are currently promoting their debut album The Vain Hope of Horse, dedicated to Federici's memory.
