Never mind the storyline, an adaptation of a best-selling tell-all chronicling the failed McCain-Palin campaign in the 2008 election. Fuhgeddabout the political affiliations of the film's principal players (Obama supporters), discussion of backstory, or snippets of set gossip. Most of the stories I've read myopically focus on the remarkable transformation, "nailing the physics," and Moore's "eerie resemblance" to Palin.
Puh-leeze. Any one of a number of actresses could pull off a believeable Palin. Here's a few I came up with just off the top of my head:
And of course, the Queen of Palins: Tina Fey. If anyone is a dead ringer for the former Governor of Alaska, it's Fey. But who wants to watch a two-hour Saturday Night Live impersonation? The success of this project will require more than a believeable look-alike.
Luckily, the people behind the scenes know talent when they see it. Moore has the admiration of her peers and is known for her heartfelt performances. Let's hope she won't let her political affiliations interfere with her portrayal of Palin.
