Celebrities Rally to Get Out the Vote: A Guide to Election 2008

Celebrity endorsements for president. Do we really care? Probably not.

What scares me about this video is knowing the names of everyone by sight. Okay, maybe one or two escape memory, but recognizing Giovanni Ribisi was a little scary. Yup, I spend too much time immersed in celebrity gossip. But I can't will myself away. Too much fun. Those who know and love me (and even those who don't) might as well get used to it.

With all the criticism -- good and bad -- about celebrities impacting the 2008 election, a star-studded cast put themselves on the line to debate an issue of vital national importance.

Getting YOU to the polls.

Think it doesn't matter? Uhm, no.

Even in non-battle ground states everyone, especially college students, have a duty and obligation to vote. If anything matters in this election, increasing voter participation and preventing voter fraud tops the list. It's our country and we can take it back, one citizen at a time. But we all must do our part.

In that spirit, I'm doing mine. An easy state by state voter guide appears below. Eligibility requirements, deadlines, and online registration links, they're all there for anyone who gives a flying fig.

Now it's your turn. No excuses. Register. NOW. Because in some places (*cough* Mississippi *ptuii*) the deadline is tomorrow!

Then vote on November 4th. Early.

Most states will allow everyone in line at poll closing time to vote. And if you get turned away, demand to see the precinct captain. Plop a provisional ballot in the captain's lap and take a cell phone picture. You can always file a complaint with the election board if your state results become a point of contention.

Remember Election 2000!

Never again.

Ashton Kutcher Dishes Dumb at "What Happens in Vegas" World Premiere

Ashton Kutcher must have been a daredevil dolt in his youth. Carmen Diaz, still dealing with the unexpected death of her dad, couldn't make the London world premiere of their light-hearted romp, What Happens in Vegas, leaving Kutcher to wing the red carpet alone.

Kind of feel sorry for the poor sap, spilling intimate personal details of his boneheaded antics under the influence. Guess he was absent from movie star school on the day they taught how to skirt embarrassing questions by scratching one's head and smiling amiably into the camera. Feast your eyes on this interview.

I can't be the only one who thinks Kutcher had a death wish at some point in his life. Mommy Demi should have been in tow for an emergency elbow nudging, although who knows whether that would have stopped him from spouting like a schoolgirl. Must be off spreading pregnancy rumors again. Oh, those two crazy kids.

Maybe we’re all being punk'd. Passed out on a frozen river and survived? Wonder if frostbite nipped Kutcher's unmentionables. Now that might explain a thing or two about those pregnancy rumors.

Judging from tepid fan reaction in the video, Lake Bell's scarlet pom-pom sleeved number made a poor substitute for Diaz. Does anyone else regard Bell as the poor man’s Amanda Peet? They both have that strong sexy nose thing going on, wide mouths, flashing eyes, but Peet seems infinitely more reserved.
Lake Bell and Amanda Peet looking so alike maybe the two celebrities were separated at birth
Not reading between the lines on this one -- Kutcher and Peet had no chemistry whatsoever in their box office bomb, A Lot Like Love. Maybe Bell got the part in his Vegas film because he's drawn to dark sultry and was going for more wild with his nasty.

Although judging from the latest movie trailer, if Kutcher wants more wild, he should stick to drunken jumps from second story windows.

An Ashton Kutcher Christmas Card

These holiday spoofs are too funny. If the "no end in sight" WGA strike could be reduced to a video postcard, we suspect it might look something like this.

WARNING: Video contains strong material that might be unsuitable for children. Parental guidance suggested.

Demi Moore Baby Bump is Old and Tired

After what the pregnancies of J.Lo and Xtina did to the media, no one wants to be the last to break baby bump news. That may explain why Famecrawler is running with a blind item from E! about a possible new baby bump. Problem is, the rose fell off this bump years ago.

Demi Moore in a photo spreadThe preggers police were eavesdropping at a party over the weekend where they just happened to overhear Demi Moore bragging about her “belly and buds.” This was just enough fodder for E! to get blasted and run.

Pnk’ed is more like it.

The press recently snapped Demi’s husband, Ashton Kutcher, notorious punkster and practical joke manufacturer extraordinaire, filming his latest movie in a chicken outfit. Between that and the gobs of attention slathered over daughter Rumer, a/k/a the next Miss Golden Globes, might Ms. D, the St. Elmo’s Fire babe, be feeling a wee bit slighted?

Mah-aaannnn, what some people won’t do for publicity. Star in a new movie. Go to Darfur. Endorse a presidential candidate. But more baby bump rumors? Puh-leeze!

How many times are “prognastycators” going to tout this horn? Either Demi is setting a new world record for the longest gestation of a fetus that has yet to pop, or somebody’s getting their jollies from juicing the wheels of entertainment.

For the record, sightings of this miracle baby began as far back as March 14, 2005. Not trying to be mean and hoping miscarriages are not to blame, but if this latest rumor is one in a long line of some sick running gag on the press, the yolk is up and it’s all over Demi’s face.
