Kate Ceberano Helps Open New Melbourne Scientology Church

The name synonymous with Melbourne, Kate Ceberano performed a song she wrote for the grand opening of the Church of Scientology of Melbourne.

Beautiful new building and even better is what this new Church will make available now to Scientologists and the community.

Thousands of Scientologists, dignitaries and guests from across the nation celebrated a milestone—the opening of the first Ideal Scientology Church in Australia.

Auntie Joy Murphy Wandin, senior elder of the Wurundjeri people, opened the dedication with the traditional “Welcome to Country” ceremony, welcoming Scientologists to the lands of her ancestors.

Scientologist, Melbourne native and award-winning singer and songwriter Kate Ceberano performed a moving rendition of her original composition “This Song is You,” written in honour of the occasion and the heritage of the city and all that Australia holds dear.

In tribute to the significance of the occasion Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center and ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion, travelled to Melbourne from the United States to officiate at the dedication. He acknowledged the long parade of accomplishments by Australian Scientologists that culminated in the new Church.

“It is my honour to join you this evening and commemorate a moment that will live on in history for a long time to come. Not that you haven’t loomed large in history before, not that you haven’t triumphed over great adversity in years gone by, not that you didn’t stand firm for the dignity of Man, and not that you didn’t indeed uphold the God-given rights of all religions all over this world.

David Miscavige Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center and Ecclesiastical Leader of the Scientology Religion

David Miscavige is the ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion. From his position as Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center (RTC), Mr. Miscavige bears the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the standard and pure application of L. Ron Hubbard’s technologies of Dianetics and Scientology and for Keeping Scientology Working.

In that capacity, Mr. Miscavige has redefined the term “religious leader” to fit the tasks necessary to direct a truly unique, contemporary religion—a religion born in the twentieth century, which has achieved an unprecedented level of expansion in the twenty-first century, including some 8,500 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups across 165 nations.

Under Mr. Miscavige’s stewardship, Scientology-supported social betterment and humanitarian programs have touched the lives of billions. Mr. Hubbard’s religious works are more widely available than ever and the Church has achieved unprecedented growth both in physical size and in the reach of its ministry.

Such is the stamp of Mr. David Miscavige in fulfilling the vision and legacy of L. Ron Hubbard and such is the encapsulated story of his leadership:

  • Guaranteeing the continued growth and expansion of Scientology internationally
  • Making Scientology broadly available to people of all walks of life world over
  • Developing programs to address society’s worst ills and providing the resources to put those programs into action
  • Ensuring that the Scripture of Scientology is true to the Founder’s original writings
  • Restoring Mr. Hubbard’s written works, recorded lectures and filmed lectures
  • Seeing to the international dissemination of Scientology
  • Creating Ideal Scientology Church Organizations
  • Establishing two state-of-the-art digital publishing houses capable of producing 1.3 million books and 1 million CDs per week
  • Inspiring the Volunteer Ministers Program, the world’s largest independent relief force, with more than 200,000 volunteers
  • Securing official recognitions of the religion
  • Presiding over nine annual globally broadcast events that serve as briefings for Scientologists on the Church's strategic programs.

L. RON HUBBARD'S TRUSTED FRIEND

Born in 1960, David Miscavige has been a Scientologist for most of his life and is still remembered as the 12-year-old prodigy who served as the youngest professional auditor at Saint Hill’s famed Hubbard Guidance Center in England.

He is further remembered for the fact that barely a year after entering the Scientology religious order, the Sea Organization, at the age of 16, he was among a handful of people selected to work directly with L. Ron Hubbard. After personal instruction from Mr. Hubbard, the 17-year-old David Miscavige served as his Director of Photography for the first Scientology training films.

Later, at Mr. Hubbard’s request, Mr. Miscavige served as the senior executive supervising ecclesiastical missions to Scientology Churches around the world. By the age of 18, David Miscavige had become the individual L. Ron Hubbard called upon to carry out the most important assignments. No Church executive in history ever received more direct communication from L. Ron Hubbard than Mr. Miscavige.

In 1983, L. Ron Hubbard described a heroic Church executive who cleaned the ranks of rogue staff attempting to seize control of Scientology while Mr. Hubbard was engaged in intensive research and absent from the Church. As Mr. Hubbard himself phrased it:

“So forgive me for not managing the Church when it almost fell into hostile hands. It all came out all right. Why? Because real Scientologists made sure it did. My faith was justified.”

That real Scientologist L. Ron Hubbard spoke of was David Miscavige.

In light of what had nearly transpired, L. Ron Hubbard requested a corporate reorganization of the Church designed to ensure the Church would not fall into hostile hands and the religion could move on into perpetuity—always remaining true to its Source teachings. To that end, L. Ron Hubbard saw to the formation of Religious Technology Center to hold the Scientology and Dianetics trademarks and to preserve, maintain and protect the Scientology religion. He appointed Mr. Miscavige a Trustee of that Church organization.

To oversee his personal affairs for the remainder of his life, L. Ron Hubbard also appointed David Miscavige as chairman of the organization charged with handling those matters.

Following L. Ron Hubbard’s passing in 1986, it was Mr. Miscavige who steered Scientology through those difficult days; for as history demonstrates, the true test of any religion is to survive the passing of its Founder. Indeed, it was Mr. Miscavige who secured that survival by obtaining full religious recognition in the United States and ushering Scientology onto the global stage.

Since then, Mr. Miscavige has steadfastly carried forth L. Ron Hubbard’s legacy, until Scientology now stands as the only major religion to emerge in this modern age. To be sure, what Mr. Miscavige has done is no more or less than the fulfillment of L. Ron Hubbard’s vision—a vision he knew would be faithfully carried out with Mr. Miscavige at the helm.

“Trust and friendship are things forged in fire and pounded out on the anvil of life. We have been through a lot together. I trust you as you trust me.”

New Church in Music City, USA

The opening day in Nashville, more than 3,000 Scientologists and guests toured the new Church of Scientology and Celebrity Centre, just a mile from "Music Row".

Having traveled 20,000 miles since the opening of the Fort Harrison in mid March, Mr. Miscavige once again officiated the ribbon cutting of yet another new Church, this one in Nashville, Tennessee-Music City, USA.

The following weekend, hundreds gathered in the Nashville Chapel for Sunday Services.

The opening of the new Church of Scientology and Celebrity Centre Nashville, just one mile from "Music Row," drew Scientologists from across the region. Also on hand were scores of local dignitaries, residents and Hollywood celebrities. Among those who addressed the gathering were Grammy-winning composer and musician Mark Isham and actresses Anne Archer and Jenna Elfman.

Then again, speaking to the broader significance of a Church of Scientology in the heart of Music City, Mr. Miscavige dedicated the new Church:

"The new Ideal Org and Celebrity Centre signals great things for tomorrow. And when you couple that with our ability to recover to individuals their inherent creativity, our ability to reawaken dreams and restore the power to achieve those dreams, yes, we can now make good on what L. Ron Hubbard tells us regarding the artist as creating the beauty and glory on which cultures depend.

"And that's both what this new Church represents and why we have come to Nashville. For while Nashville is known as the heart and soul of American music, let her now fulfill her destiny and write a song that will uplift every man."

With that, the ribbon was cut and the new Church in Music City, USA, opened to all to begin writing that new song.

SCIENTOLOGY'S GOLDEN AGE OF KNOWLEDGE

What is now known throughout the world of Scientology as the "Golden Age of Knowledge" was inaugurated by Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center (RTC), Mr. David Miscavige, in March 2005. It is the single most embracive RTC program in history and reflects literally hundreds of thousands of hours of scriptural verification and restoration. (Read on...)

40th Anniversary of Celebtrity Center International

Reading a wonderful speech of
David Miscavige - about Celebrity Center International - it struck me that this Church of Scientology has its 40th anniversary this year!

But what is a Celebrity Center, or "CC"?

The CC International website provides the answer:

Scientology exists to provide help — help for all people — at every strata of life, of every disability or ability and across all ethnic and religious boundaries.

Borne out of this desire to help are the many social betterment activities Scientology supports. From our education programs, providing real answers to declining literacy levels, to our solutions for criminal reform and drug-rehabilitation — everything we do in Scientology is in the name of help.

Thus, while we continue our work to bring real solutions to those areas of society most in need, we also realize that we must not forget those individuals upon whom society depends the most.

Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard once said, “The world is carried on the backs of a desperate few.” Unfortunately, it is these desperate few who are often the most neglected.

It is for this reason that L. Ron Hubbard saw to the formation of a special Church of Scientology which would cater to these individuals — the artists, politicians, leaders of industry, sports figures and anyone with the power and vision to create a better world. That Church is Celebrity Centre International.

Now one might argue that these individuals already have benefits that many will never have. But, ask any one of them — ask yourself — it can become a lonely world. Subject to the unusual pressures that come with prominence and responsibility, being looked upon under a microscope for good or bad — these are burdens others can’t imagine. Not to mention the counter-attack such individuals are subjected to by those less-ambitious who would rather fight to maintain a “status quo” than allow another to attempt a change or improvement.

You see, there’s no shame in helping the artist. In fact, in the larger scope of societal help, we had better help the artist if we wish to advance the society at all.

For as L. Ron Hubbard states, “The artist has an enormous role in the enhancement of today’s and the creation of tomorrow’s reality. He operates in a rank in advance of science as to the necessities and requirements of man. The elevation of a culture can be measured directly by the numbers of its people working in the field of aesthetics.”

Through our delivery of Scientology services, Celebrity Centers provide one with a practical technology for improving one’s happiness and creativity.

What is unique about Scientology technology is described in one word: RESULTS. It works.

Whether applied to marital or personal relationships, to one’s family or career or simply one’s personal peace of mind — Scientology changes conditions for the better.

Scientology gives one the tools one needs to handle any situation in life. In this sense, Scientology helps the able to become more able. It is a road to greater spiritual freedom.

As one who would work to build a better world, the artist is deserving of that freedom. The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International stands ready to deliver it.

Bart Wants You to be Happy

Last night Nancy Cartwright gave a very moving presentation at the Alex Theater in Glendale on the subject of The Way to Happiness a common sense moral code written by L. Ron Hubbard.

The Way to Happiness has always been one of my favorites but now it's even better, with the production and release of 21 short public service announcements -- one for each of the precepts in the book.

This booklet is non-religious, so any group can use it and help raise the moral standards and happiness of their fellows. It's been used in schools all over the US and in other countries, and kids have participated in essay contests where they work out for themselves how to live more moral lives. It's used in jails and prisons to help inmates reevaluate their lives and decide, on their own, to reform. It's been used with drug lords in Columbia, with gangs on the streets of LA and streets of Lagos, Nigeria. And everywhere it is used it meets with incredible success because it contains so much truth.

Last night's event was a treat, but it is just the start. Nancy Cartwright announced that her group, called Happy House plans to distribute a million Way to Happiness booklets in San Fernando Valley to combat crime, improve relationships and help the people of the Valley live better, more decent and happier lives.

I've frequently heard David Miscavige talk about the importance of The Way To Happiness as a means to help people on a broad scale, and I agree it's a terrific means of reaching out. Anyone can do it.

After all, don't you want other people to be happy too?
